Sunburn 7-Day Prediction

In the sunburn browning model for apples, the Sunburn 7-Day Prediction tab shows the predicted weather conditions that affect the risk of sunburn browning, such as daily maximum and minimum temperatures, cloud cover, humidity, and wind speed. The color of each row or day indicates the predicted sunburn risk:

  • green = sunburn browning will probably not happen

  • yellow = sunburn browning will probably happen

  • red = sunburn browning is expected

Cultivar, fruit diameter, and canopy density also play a role in determining the risk of sunburn browning and need to be initially selected or periodically updated using the pull-down menus. Then click on “Update” to re-calculate the risk of sunburn browning.
